Start in Oslo before boarding the legendary Bergen Line and Flåm Railway – two of the world's most celebrated scenic routes. Then spend six nights aboard a Norwegian coastal cruise ship, sailing from Bergen to Kirkenes and back through waters that have connected Norwegian communities for centuries. The coastal voyage takes you deep into Lofoten's dramatic archipelago, across the Arctic Circle with its ceremonial crossing, and all the way to North Cape – Europe's northernmost point accessible by road. You'll witness landscapes that shift from deep fjords and mountain peaks to Arctic tundra and midnight sun (summer season) or the possibility of Northern Lights (late season departures). The ship calls at historic ports, giving you time to explore coastal towns that live at the edge of the wilderness. This is Norway experienced the way locals insist is best: by rail through the mountains, then by sea along the coast. Everything's arranged – accommodation, meals aboard ship, and connections between train and vessel. You just show up and watch Norway unfold. The Flåm railway is one of the highlights on the way to Balestrand.Photo by Torild Moland | TravelStock The Geirangerfjord is definitely a highlight on this tour.
